Dr. Meghan Murphy is a Jacksonville native who knew from an early age she was destined to be a veterinarian. Born and raised in Northeast Florida, she is proud to serve the community she calls home. She graduated at the top of her class with high honors from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, where she served as Class President for four years. During her training, she was awarded multiple scholarships and was recognized by the Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA) for her leadership and accomplishments.

Her clinical experiences include externships at world-renowned practices such as the Four Sixes Ranch in Texas, Orlando Equine, and Equine Medical Center of Ocala (EMCO), where she honed her skills in sports medicine, lameness evaluation, and advanced equine care. Today, she is USDA-accredited and the proud co-owner of Intracoastal West Veterinary Hospital in Jacksonville alongside her sister, Dr. Taylor McLendon.

Dr. Murphy’s professional interests include internal medicine and sports medicine, but her greatest passion is building lasting relationships with her clients and patients. She believes that veterinary medicine is about treating the whole patient, not just the numbers on a lab report, and that every case is an opportunity to learn and improve. Her approach is centered on individualized care and ensuring that each pet and their family feel supported and understood at every step.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Murphy enjoys running, working out, drinking coffee, and spending time outdoors. She is newly married to her husband, Drew, a pilot, and is especially close with her three sisters. At home, she shares life with her beloved black Lab, Goose, who keeps her on her toes.
